Santa got some help from staff at WC Smith, WCS Construction, Building Bridges and DCBIA, along with their families and friends, who showed up in force at THEARC to volunteer for the event.
The event attracted scores of families who live in WC Smith properties near THEARC campus in Southeast DC. The kids received a gift, and families were able to bring home winter coats and accessories (gloves, socks, long underwear and scarfs) for their kids.
Families were treated to refreshments, including soup from DC’s Open Crumb restaurant, and enjoyed ornament-making with THEARC partners ArtReach and the Phillips Collection. The kids got to take rides down a big inflatable slide.
Thanks to all who donated clothing and toys, including office tenants at 1100 New Jersey Ave. SE and residents of WC Smith’s The Collective, both of whom organized a toy drive for the Bazaar. And thanks to the many volunteers who helped make the event a big success.
