Skyland Town Center, a WC Smith development project in DC’s Ward 7, has welcomed two new restaurants.
Mezeh, a Mediterranean-inspired fast-casual eatery, celebrated its grand opening at the end of March. Skyland is Mezeh’s second location in Washington, DC; it opened its first DC site at the Dakota Crossing shopping center.
In April, HalfSmoke announced that it had signed a lease to open its second DC location at Skyland. HalfSmoke began as a quick service sausage restaurant near Howard University. Founder Andre McCain, who used to get his haircut across the street from Skyland, plans to have dining room seating for 200 and patio that will seat 40 in the new location. McCain told the Washington Business Journal that “we really like the [Skyland] neighborhood – and how there’s a lot of growth in the neighborhood and, we think, a lot of opportunity to provide high quality, full-service dining.”
Other dining options include Starbucks, Roaming Rooster, & Pizza, Tropical Smoothie Café and Fuji Steakhouse and Sushi. Maizal is slated to open this year.
