Congratulations to Pat McKenzie, who is the recipient of the first annual Bill Smith Award.
Pat, a senior vice president of property management, was given the award at the corporate holiday party Dec. 13.
The award was established to honor Bill Smith, WC Smith’s founder, and recognize a colleague who embodies the values that Mr. Smith followed and set for the company:

- Honesty
- Loyalty
- Hard work
- Family values
A 37-year veteran of the company, Pat immediately stood out as the natural recipient of the first award.
In announcing the award at the event, WC Smith Chairman and CEO Chris Smith noted that Pat has served as a mentor to countless people who have come to work at WC Smith and is beloved by his team. Twice his staff has given Pat plaques in appreciation of his leadership, thoughtfulness and support.
Chris said Pat “is one of the hardest workers I know, and took to heart Dad’s adage of “do today what you can put off until tomorrow.’”
