Maureen McKenzie Celebrates 50 Years with WC Smith

Congratulations to Maureen McKenzie, who in April 2024 celebrated her 50th anniversary with WC Smith!

Maureen has been the resident manager of Cambridge Square, a multifamily property in Bethesda, MD, since 1967. WC Smith began managing Cambridge Square seven years after she started. He husband worked at the property and her son, Patrick, is a senior vice president at WCS.

With such a long tenure, Maureen has seen her share of changes at the 8-building site. Its proximity to the National Institutes of Health and Walter Reed Hospital has made Cambridge Square increasingly popular with people who work in healthcare. It’s also been home to an increasingly diverse resident population.

What hasn’t changed, she said, is that Cambridge Square has always attracted families. She herself moved to Cambridge Square before she began working there.

Maureen believes a key to her longevity is that “I love it here and love the residents.” Asked if she has any plans to retire, she said “They’re going to carry me out!”

Thanks, Maureen, for your many decades of being a valued member of the WC Smith team.
