WC Smith Welcomes Chipotle to the Shops at Park Village

WC Smith in May welcomed Chipotle as its newest tenant at the Shops at Park Village, offering residents of Washington’s Congress Heights neighborhood a new fast-casual dining option.

Chipotle joins Giant Food, IHOP, Subway and Pizza Boli as food retailers at the shopping center. The opening marks the third Chipotle location in Southeast Washington, and 20th in the city.

WC Smith has had a long-time presence in Congress Heights. In 1991 the company acquired The Villages of Parkland Apartments, transforming a troubled housing complex into a comfortable, well-maintained property that provides rental and homeownership opportunities for more than 2,500 residents. As part of the community revitalization, WC Smith built DC’s first splashpark in Parklands and redeveloped the adjacent Shops at Park Village.

“We are extremely happy the Chipotle has opened its doors at the Shops,” said WC Smith CEO Chris Smith. “The restaurant adds a new vitality to the ever-growing Congress Heights community, and we’re pleased that our residents and their neighbors can enjoy a new destination within easy walking or driving distance.”
