WC Smith welcomed its 2024 Summer Youth Employment Program participants, kicking off our 32nd year of hiring DC-area teens for summer jobs within the company.
The participants heard from John Burns, an attorney, community activist and entrepreneur. With his brother Mike, Burns founded The Burns Brothers, a group of 8 different businesses that ignite, inspire, and support brown and Black people across several societal intersections and industries. Those intersections include marketing, communications, wellness, hospitality, talent management, VIP event planning, and inclusive learning.
This summer 29 DC-area students will work at 14 locations, including WC Smith residential properties, the Splash Park at the Villages of Parklands and the iCAN Technical Theater Program at THEARC.
