WC Smith welcomed its 2023 Summer Youth Employment Program participants, kicking off our 31st year of hiring DC-area teens for summer jobs within the company.
Two panel discussions highlighted the June 27th launch, the first an executive discussion featuring Building Bridges Across the River President Rahsaan Bernard, DC United Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Franklin and DC entrepreneur Faraji Whalen Robinson. The students also heard from SYEP alumni, including two current WC Smith employees, Riki Bowe and Stephon Johnson, and USPS route supervisor Jessica Johnson.
This summer 34 DC-area students will work at 18 locations, including WC Smith residential properties and corporate office, the Splash Park at the Villages of Parklands and the iCAN Technical Theater Program at THEARC.
