Sheridan Station is Finalist for ULI Global Awards for Excellence

Sheridan Station has been chose by the Urban Land Institute as one of the 26 best projects in the world. The prestigious Global Awards for Excellence finalists are chosen by an international jury made up of developers, planners, architects, lenders, and other real estate professionals. A full list of the finalists is available here.

Sheridan Station is a 327-unit transit-oriented, mixed-income community near the Anacostia Metro Station in southeast DC. The $100 million investment, consisting of 247 rental and 80 homeownership units, is having a transformational effect on the area, demonstrating that affordable housing can be high quality and environmentally-friendly. A model of green design, Sheridan boasts a 104 kilowatt solar array, an advanced storm-water collection system, and is the first multifamily building in DC to be awarded LEED Platinum. The development partners overcame numerous challenges to complete the project, including topography that required a 70 foot tall retaining wall, the economic hardship of the recession, and complicated partnerships and financing structures.
