New Athletic Events Coordinator Joins The Collective Staff

If you’re like many people, you greet the new year with a resolution to be more healthful. Certainly 2020 reminded us of the importance of maintaining our health and wellness. The Collective, WC Smith’s 3-building development in Washington’s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, offers a wide variety of fitness and wellness amenities – yoga, meditation, swimming laps, shooting hoops, just to name a few – to help our residents tend to body and spirit, without having to leave the property.

And now, we’re excited to announce a new – and unique – addition to our wellness offerings. Adam Murphy was hired as The Collective’s Senior Events and Fitness Coordinator. Adam joins events manager Ashley Weatherly, who will oversee all social, health and educational programming at The Collective.

This makes The Collective the only multifamily property in Washington to have a full-time staff member dedicated to developing and managing a comprehensive fitness and health activities for its residents. Among his plans:

  • Expand group fitness class options, for indoor and outdoor settings, as well as launch health and fitness workshops.
  • Begin regularly scheduled pick-up team sports, including basketball, soccer and volleyball, which could lead to in-house leagues and tournaments.
  • Expand programming for our Golf members.
  • Evaluate and update fitness equipment, so you have the best, current options for your workouts.

Murphy is the former women’s soccer coach at Marymount University and a former athletic facilities and event manager at George Washington University, a combination of coaching and event planning that perfectly suits him for his new role at The Collective.
