We’re happy to announce that our residents will now be able to pay thier rent and submit maintenance requests via text, or using Amazon Alexa.

Below are instructions on how to set up an account and enable the “rent payment”/”maintenance request” skill on your Alexa.

  • Log in to the resident portal
  • Once logged in-in the upper left hand side-click on the house icon
  • It will open up the resident home page. Under SMS alerts put in your mobile # and click “OPT IN”
  • Once you click “Opt In”, it will send a confirmation text…the user will need to text back with Y
  • Once they “Opt In”, they will need to log back into the portal and then hit “Payment Account to:
  • Create a pin and associate a payment account

This pin will also be used when they use Alexa to pay, check balances and submit work orders.

Get started by linking your RENTCafé account to Amazon Alexa. 

Enable the RENTCafé Resident Services skill – Open the Amazon Alexa app. Select ‘skills’ and search for RENTCafe Resident Services. Select ‘enable’. 

Link your RENTCafé account – Enter your RENTCafé username and password. 

For Payments, create a PIN for additional security and then select your preferred payment method. 

To open the RENTCafé Skill – Just say – “Alexa, open Rent Cafe” or “Alexa, ask Rent Cafe to place a new request”.

WILL I STILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION THAT MY RENT OR MAINTENANCE REQUEST IS PROCESSED?

Yes, you will still recieve a confirmation email from your property account that your payment or request was processed.

ARE RENT PAYMENT DUE DATES STILL CONSISTENT?

Yes, rent payments will still be due on the first of the month. Amazon Alexa will provide your current balance before prompting you to pay your rent.

WILL ALEXA ASK ME TO PROVIDE MY ACCOUNT PIN NUMBER BEFORE BEING ABLE TO PAY MY RENT?

Yes, a current account pin will need to be provided before you have the capability to pay your rent using Amaon Alexa.

WHAT DO I DO IF I FORGOT MY ACCOUNT PIN?

If you forgot your pin, click the forgot password link under the log-in. you should receive an email to reset your pin immediately.

If you believe you registered using the wrong email address, contact your leasing office to correct your email address and ask to be “re-invited to the resident portal.”
