Project Description
The Villages of Parklands Splash Park is a state-of-the-art interactive water park – the first and only of its kind in Washington, DC. Located in the Congress Heights neighborhood, the Splash Park is a family destination and neighborhood gathering site. WC Smith built the facility in 1996 to replace an outdated pool in the community.
The Splash Park was fully renovated in 2021, with upgrades including:
- A newly re-plastered pool
- New play toys
- New shade structures
- A new concrete pool deck
- A new sound system
- A fully renovated concession stand
- A renovated bathhouse
The Splash Park is extensively landscaped, secured with attractive wrought iron fencing, and surrounded by tables and umbrellas. Ice cream, beverages, and light meals can be purchased at the snack bar, where a debit card system has been put into place so it is not necessary for children to bring cash to the water park.
