Project Description

Skyland Town Center is an 18.7-acre, mixed-use development located at the intersection of Alabama Ave. SE, Marion Barry Ave. SE and Naylor Rd, SE in Washington, DC’s Ward 7.

Skyland consists of three phases:

Phase A comprises The Crest, a Class A multifamily building that delivered in Spring 2021 and was the first newly constructed market-rate multifamily property to open in Wards 7 and 8 in more than 40 years. The property features 263 one- and two-bedroom apartments. The Crest contains roughly 84,000 square feet of ground floor retail, including Chase Bank, Trek Bicycles, Roaming Rooster, CVS, Edenbridge Health, Skyland Workforce Center, Like That Barbershop, Skyland Nail and Salon, and Jersey Mike’s.

The Crest is certified LEED Silver.

The second phase, delivered in late 2021, consists of a Lild Grocery Store, the first Lidl to open in Washington, DC, and the first full-service supermarket to open east of the Anacostia River in more than a decade. This phase also featured the first drive-through Starbucks to open in Washington, DC.

Other retailers in this block include PNC Bank, &Pizza, Maizal, Mezeh and Tropical Smoothie Café.

Phase C is programmed for 126 for-sale townhomes, a park and additional homeownership development.
