Agora

Agora (800 New Jersey Ave. SE) is the second building comprising The Collective, WC Smith’s signature development in Washington, DC’s Navy Yard neighborhood.

Opened in 2018, The Garrett offers 336 luxury units, spanning studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. Construction on the 613,000 square foot property began in 2014.

Amenities at Agora include a demonstration kitchen for visiting chefs, a rooftop pool, and a virtual driving range, a fitness center that includes a yoga studio and a bicycle spinning room. The ground floor retail includes a 39,000 square foot Whole Foods Market. The property also features a 15,000 square foot courtyard.

Across the street from Agora is Bark and Go, a dog park located at 101 H St. SE. A 3,000 square foot fenced-in play area for both large and small dogs. It is open to all licensed dogs.

Agora is certified LEED Silver.

Green design is integral to Agora and The Collective, with features including:

• 55,000 square feet of green roof space;
• 250 plantings across the properties;
• 3 water cisterns capable of collecting 91,000 gallons of storm water; and
• 30 electric car parking spots, contributing to a reduction of 214.8 pounds of carbon footprint emissions annually.

More than 40 community garden plots are available to residents. The highly popular amenities not only promote sustainability, health and wellness, but also serve as important stormwater management tools for the buildings.

Agora joins Park Chelsea and The Garrett at The Collective, which consists of 1,136 apartments, 103,000 square feet of amenities, and over 52,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.
