WC Smith Kicks Off 34th Summer Youth Employment Program

WC Smith welcomed the 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program participants on June 25, kicking off our 34th year of hiring DC-area teens for summer jobs within the company.

This year’s theme is “Real Work, Real Impact.”

The participants heard from Keith Foxx, founder of FOXXSTEM, a DC-based engineering firm that provides civil engineering, program management and construction management. They also heard from Ken Sandy, founder of DC-based Dryy, a drop-off/delivery garment care company serving the DC Metro area.

This summer 25 students will participate, working at 10 WC Smith properties, the Splash Park at the Villages of Parklands and the iCAN Technical Theater program at THEARC. Participating properties are:
