WC Smith Kicks Off 33rd Summer Youth Employment Program

WC Smith welcomed the 2025 Summer Youth Employment Program participants on June 26, kicking off our 33nd year of hiring DC-area teens for summer jobs within the company.

The participants heard from Delia Houseal, chief of staff for DC Ward 7 Councilmember Wendell Felder; Rebecca Winn, Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Washington Wizards; and Ian Callender, a DC entrepreneur whose businesses include Sandlot Southeast and Suite Nation.

This summer 27 students will work at 15 locations. Participating properties are:

  • 2800 Woodley
  • Archer Park
  • City View
  • Fairway Park
  • Garden Village
  • Grandview Village
  • JETU
  • Manor Village
  • Park Chelsea
  • Ridgecrest Village
  • Sheridan Station
  • The Strand

Students were also placed at the Splash Park and the iCAN Technical Theater program at THEARC.
