Washington View Team Hosts Summer Camp for Young Residents

The staff at WC Smith’s Washington View this summer partnered with So What Else to offer children living at the property summer camp activities, even during the pandemic.

So What Else’s mission is to improve the lives of children and families living in underserved communities in the Baltimore-Washington Metro Area by providing food security, access to basic necessities, and high-quality out-of-school time programs in literacy, athletics, and the visual and performing arts while inspiring young people to give back to the community by creating volunteer opportunities for citizens of all ages.

The camps consisted of two sessions, with a focus on Cinema and Sports, available for kids ages 7-15. Older teens (ages 16-17) could sign up to be volunteers. The campers were provided breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.

Washington View kicked off the summer with an Ice Cream Social to reintroduce the team to the community and promote to the upcoming camp sessions.

Camp activities included pillow making, exercising, creating custom hats and mad scientist projects.
