Skyland Development Team Helps Fund Programs for DC Public Libraries

WC Smith and Rappaport, our retail partner, in November provided financial support to two DC public libraries in Wards 7 and 8, as part of the Community Benefits Program for the Skyland Town Center development. This support, to the Friends groups at the Francis Gregory and Anacostia libraries, will fund many programs that these institutions provide.

The Skyland development team also contributed this summer to the following D.C. public schools: Anacostia High School, Stanton Elementary School, Randle Highlands Elementary School, Kramer Middle School, Boone Elementary School and Anne Beers Elementary School.

Skyland Town Center is a mixed-use development in the Hillcrest neighborhood of DC’s Ward 7. The Crest, a 263-unit residential building, is slated to open for occupancy in early 2021. It will be joined by an existing CVS, and, to come, a drive-through Starbucks, a branch of Chase Bank and a Lidl supermarket, the first full grocery store to open east of the Anacostia River in more than a decade.
